Tidbits

Greetings from the arctic.  It's a balmy 10 degrees {-11 with the windchill} and there aren't enough articles of clothing in my closet to keep me warm today.  Most of the sickness has left the house, except, of course, for me.  I'm fairly certain I have a sinus infection as I haven't been able to breathe properly or hear out of my left ear for a week now.  Que sera.  Today is just going to be tidbits because there hasn't been a whole lot happening with all the stuffy noses and gross weather.

Chris and I made a bet last week.  It's all official, we even shook on it.  I was going on my 50th tirade about how I wasn't cutting my hair no.matter.what and he was saying "yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard that before".  Which prompted the bet.  Long story short, if I don't cut my hair for three months {until his birthday on April 19th} then I can get a Keurig.  FINALLY.  I've wanted one of these stupid things forever.  And I found out I can get on in aqua!  Eeek!  So, my resolve to resist cutting my hair has been strengthened even more.

I have discovered coconut milk.  I am in lurve.

Everlee has been doing all kinds of new things.  Some great, some not-so-great.  She's starting to say a few words.  "Dada" and what I think is "dog".  She's getting tooth, after tooth, after tooth {heaven help us}.  I was always so thankful that she was an amazing sleeper, and I don't know if it's the sleep regression or teething, but her sleep habits have left a lot to be desired lately.  No thanks to my JERK neighbor who insists on shoveling/chipping ice off his drive at TEN THIRTY AT NIGHT.  I've never had the desire to fight a grown man who could certainly take me with one hand tied behind his back, but let me tell you, I was ready to claw his eyes out last night. End rant.  Anyway, her sleeping has been all over the place.  And so have the rest of us.  She also has this new obsession with sitting on things.  She backs her butt up and plops down.  On the step, her toys, the dogs...  It's pretty cute.  I think we'll have to get this kiddo a table and chairs.

I have my yearly lady doctor appointment today.  The first appointment I've had to take Everlee to that I won't be able to hold her {see also: contain the madness} because of, cough, you know.  I'm a little nervous about it because I don't want her to be a raving loon the whole time I'm trying to relax and get this indignity over with.  It should be a real adventure.  Yippee.

Kitchen updates have been halted because of our stupid non-standard counter top.  I don't want to talk about it.

Yesterday was a little maddening.  By the time Chris got home I felt like I was ready to walk on the ceiling.  Luckily we needed infant pain reliever, so I ran to Target to get some {see also: left so fast I set a land speed record}.  It's amazing how leaving the house for a few minutes to wander the aisles of my BFFL makes me feel like a human being again.  Also they had Dunkin' Donuts coconut coffee and a $5 Hello Kitty shirt.  So, yea.  Best trip ever.

That's all I have for you at the moment.  Keep a good thought for me as I drag my 14-month-old to the OBGYN in sub-zero temperatures.  Oh, life.
